Natural Horsemanship Philosophy:

  • Communicating in the language the horse understands is the basis for natural horsemanship training.
  • Patience is a must, for your horse has no where he must be!  He will interpret any rush signals as "danger is afoot!"
  • Communication and patience are not to be mistaken for being a push-over.  The "best deal" is always offered first and then more insistence, once you are sure the horse understands what is being asked.
  • The person is the herd leader and learns to behave as such.
  • Horses buck, rear or kick out of fear and self-preservation. They must be taught to face their fears in a better way.
  • The rider learns to move with the horse, instead of trying to take him captive when he moves quickly.

Arabians take the savy of a smooth hand.  You have to slow them down, being sure not to over stimulate.

"in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength."  Isaiah 30:15

George takes the time it takes to reach even the most difficult horses.  His patience and training techniques rival some of the best Natural Horseman around.  Although he trains all breeds, his specialty is the Spanish Mustang.  These horses are so intelligent and personable that they excell best when using Natural Horsemanship techniques.  These techniques, of course, are just tools, but in the right hands these tools produce a master piece!
